Data sheet
The sMRT ALERT MRT is an individual MOB (person overboard) distress beacon that transmits an alert signal and position update via AIS and VHF-DSC to maximize the chances of survival in a distress situation.
The beacon sends an alert to all VHF radios within range, followed by position updates via AIS to enable precise tracking. The beacon's wearer is reassured by the integrated status check with audio and visual signals.
The GNSS GPS + Galileo satellite combination, and AIS targeting via VHF, enable live, regularly-updated communication of the man overboard's position, facilitating search and rescue operations.
Meeting the new standards required by Division 219 for people working alone on a boat, this beacon is designed to be worn on a lifejacket, offering enhanced personal safety.
MOB distress beacon AIS & VHF-DSCWith a dual activation method, the beacon can be activated manually or automatically after immersion in the water for more than 2 seconds. It will activate even if the person in the water is unconscious, and will transmit a signal for over 12 hours. This MRT distress beacon features the following functions:

Class M distress beaconThe "M class" classification refers to the technical specification of the distress beacon according to International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. Class M distress beacons are designed for use by vessels operating on the high seas or in remote areas, where help may not be readily available. They are capable of emitting a distress signal that can be detected by satellites and search and rescue stations to facilitate rapid response in an emergency. Class M distress beacons can be used on various types of vessel, including pleasure craft, fishing boats and commercial vessels, to provide increased safety at sea and facilitate search and rescue operations in case of need. |
