External thruster

External thrusters are generally easier to maintain and repair than integrated bow thrusters, as they are easier to access. They are also easier to replace if necessary. However, they can be less aesthetically pleasing and can increase the vessel's water resistance, which can reduce its speed and fuel efficiency. The choice between an external bow thruster and an integrated bow thruster depends on many factors, such as maneuverability requirements, aesthetics, maintenance and cost. External thrusters are generally stern thrusters, but some can be installed forward.
