Individual beacon
Personal emergency beacons such as the PLB1, ResQLink or Bivy Stick are portable, self-contained safety devices designed for use in emergency situations in isolated environments. These advanced beacons use satellite geolocation technologies to send a precise signal to emergency services in the event of activation. They can be based on the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system, and can even be fitted with a AIS transmitter to enable them to be tracked by nearby boats, for example.
