The Kannad Safelink AIS SART2 is a search and rescue beacon or distress transponder.
The Safelink AIS SART2 transponder is a manually deployable survivor locator for use on life rafts or lifeboats, meeting IMO SOLAS requirements and providing an alternative to radar SART. It is packaged in a floating, visible, quick-release carrying bag, enabling the location of a lifeboat to be identified by rescue authorities and nearby AIS-equipped vessels .
The transponder transmits continuously for a minimum of 96 hours . An integrated high-precision GPS provides precise position information to aid rapid recovery of survivors.

SAFELINK AIS SART2 DEPLOYMENTThe AIS SAFELINK SART2 will work best if the upper section has an unobstructed view of the sky . Do your best to maximize your view of the sky. The antenna reference point marked on the mast section should be positioned at least one meter above sea level when the SART2 AIS is deployed. Attach the safety lanyard to the liferaft to prevent loss of the SART2 AIS. Activate and deploy the Safelink AIS SART2 . NB: When activating inside the dinghy, the mast does not need to be fully extended. |
