The Minn Kota Terrova2 55 lbs kayak-specific electric bow motor is designed for freshwater fishing. Powered by a 12V battery, it delivers 55 lbs of thrust and features a short 91 cm shaft. Its Weedless Wedge 2 anti---algae propeller makes it easy to navigate areas with dense aquatic vegetation.

Thanks to the improved SpotLock GPS, the motor automatically keeps your boat at your fishing spot, even in windy or current-filled conditions. This allows you to maintain your position without having to constantly correct your course. The wireless remote control lets you operate the motor from a distance, while the launch and recovery system simplifies handling.

The Terrova2 is also equipped with the Digital Maximizer. This system adjusts the motor’s power to the selected speed to minimize power consumption and extend battery life.

GPS SPOTLOCK, AUTOPILOT, AND REMOTE CONTROL

The Minn Kota Terrova2 55 lbs kayak-specific model features a built-in GPS with SpotLock functionality. Once your position is saved, the motor automatically adjusts its direction and thrust to keep the boat in the same spot, despite wind or current. This allows you to stay in your fishing spot without constantly adjusting the controls.

With AutoPilot mode, you set a course and the motor takes care of following it by correcting for drift while you’re on the water.

The Minn Kota micro--remote control provides access to the motor’s main controls:

Propeller: Start and stop the motor.
Speed: Adjusts cruising speed.
SpotLock: Automatically holds a GPS position.
AutoPilot: follows a course while correcting for drift.

LAUNCHING, RECOVERY, AND BATTERY GAUGE

The Stow Deploy system simplifies launching and retrieving the motor. Simply press the lever to deploy it. Once you’re done fishing, press the lever again to retract the motor and lock it in the stowed position.

The Terrova2 also features a built-in battery gauge. Press the button to check the remaining charge before you head out or during your fishing trip.

WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY

The Terrova2 can be controlled remotely via its wireless connection. It’s also compatible with the One-Boat Network ecosystem, which allows it to communicate with certain compatible Humminbird and Minn Kota devices.

From a compatible smartphone, the Minn Kota Fishing app gives you access to the motor’s controls without having to go to the front of the boat.

These features are handy for reaching a specific fishing spot, following a route, or exploring multiple areas without having to constantly manually control the motor.

WHAT SHAFT LENGTH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

The shaft length should be chosen based on the distance between the bow of the boat and the waterline. If the shaft is too short, the propeller may not be submerged deeply enough, especially in rough water. To determine the appropriate length for your boat:

Measure the distance between the bow and the waterline.
Add 30 cm to this measurement if you’re fishing in rough water.
