NASA - NAISBN RECEIVER - SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
The NAISBN from Nasa is an AIS receiver module for PC or GPS chartplotter equipped with an NMEA0183 input for AIS (38400 Bds). NAISBN picks up AIS radio signals from boats equipped with a transmitter, converts them to NMEA format and transfers them to your chartplotter.
NAISBN comes with a free copy of "SeaClear", which is a trial version of the onboard software. The software runs under Windows, and includes a world map on which ships are displayed. Any ship on the screen can be selected and its AIS data displayed. This includes vessel name, MMSI number, position, call and destination code and more.
NAISBN RECEIVER FOR PC OR GPSThe AIS receiver can also be used with plotters or other computer software (Maxsea, OpenCPN...) featuring an AIS input. Check compatibility with your software. A high-speed NMEA 0183 input at 38400 baud is required to accept VDM AIS channels. If your PC does not have a 9-pin port (db9), an optional USB converter is available. Combined with an optional VHF antenna, it will be complete and ready for use. Connection to a GPS system is essential for operation of this box. Note: Compatible with all GPS chartplotters with AIS option and with all navigation software with AIS option. |
