The Cortex handset Vesper Marine is the communication interface used for VHF and DSC calls from your Cortex M1 Hub.

The handset features a 4" touch screen for configuring and managing the SmartAis Cortex M1 transponder, viewing AIS target data and vessel instruments, managing and monitoring alarms, and configuring remote vessel monitoring.

2 versions available:

Cortex H1: wired touchscreen handset + non-powered cradle
Cortex H1P: wireless touchscreen handset + powered cradle

The handset's touchscreen is the main interface with dedicated buttons and click wheel for fast navigation, ease of use and one-handed operation.

The touchscreen is specially designed for the harsh marine environment, and is made to be used even in wet conditions and with gloves on.

The H1 version is equipped with a spiral lanyard connected to the ship's 12 V or 24 V (DC) power supply via a plug and bulkhead socket. The H1P includes a sturdy, powered surface-mount base for securing the handset in a fixed location and identifying it as a VHF radio.


H1P wired VHF handset When paired with the Cortex M1 hub, the Vesper Marine Cortex H1 wired handset becomes a 25W VHF radio with full Class D DSC functionality. The handset features a 4" touchscreen with a Gorilla Glass-reinforced, water- and shock-resistant display. The screen is anti-glare and can be used wet or with gloves. There are also shortcut buttons, such as one-clickDSC distress alert, emergency call on channel 16, and MOB assistance, which activates man-overboard tracking mode on all connected devices and creates a waypoint to the person in danger. The wired H1 handset plugs into a 12V or 24V power supply and connects via WiFi to the Cortex M1 Hub. You can connect up to 10 handsets to your Hub M1. Supplied with a non-powered mounting base.

	H1P wireless VHF handset To further enhance your equipment, you can purchase a Cortex H1P wireless VHF handset. This has the same features as the wired H1 handset, but offers greater freedom of movement thanks to the battery, which provides ~10h of operation. Upgrade your Cortex M1 and add additional handsets to access key functions in more areas of your boat. The rechargeable portable handset is battery-powered and recharges on an included cradle plugged into 12v or 24v, so you can connect up to 10 wifi handsets to your Cortex M1. Nb: The H1P handset comes with a powered cradle + a non-powered cradle for a secondary position without charging.
