This Minn Kota charger recharges all lead-acid batteries. It can remain connected to the mains at all times, as it has an automatic mode that controls battery charging.

MINN KOTA - PORTABLE BATTERY CHARGER - RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT

The Minn Kota battery charger switches off automatically at the end of charging. So there's no risk of overcharging. Fixed chargers can be easily installed inside the boat to automatically recharge and maintain on-board batteries in complete safety, once the electrical connection has been made to the shore power socket.

Charging takes place in 3 stages:

Stage 1: provides high amperage up to 75% charge (14.4 Vdc).
Stage 2: maintains voltage between 13.2 and 13.5 Vdc and amperage between 0.1 and 0.3 A to limit gas formation.
Step 3: maintains voltage between 13.2 and 13.5 Vdc and amperage between 0.1 and 0.3 A.
