The ball joint for disengageable steering cable is used to connect the steering cable to the outboard motor plate. It not only secures the cable, but also guides it to ensure smooth movement and avoid excessive friction. The ball joint also reduces cable tension and avoids interference with other boat components.
Unlike a conventional steering cable ball joint, a disengageable clamp allows the cable to be easily detached from the mechanism.
