SIMRAD - AP48 - ROTARY SELECTOR AND BUTTONS
The AP48 is a high-end dedicated control box for Simrad pilot systems, featuring a 4.1" color display in the modern Glass-helm style familiar to Simrad users.
It offers an ultra-wide 170-degree viewing angle and full access to advanced Continuum functions, including Automated Turn Patterns, No Drift steering and DepthContour Tracking, plus an aluminum rotary control knob and dedicated shortcut keys for progressive heading adjustment.
The new AP48 presents the user with the same intuitive interface as the compact AP44, but with a larger rotary control knob, dedicated shortcut keys and other extended control buttons. The rotary selector provides precise heading control, while the dedicated shortcut keys enable instantaneous course changes in variations of one or ten degrees. Designed for optimum control in all conditions, the AP48's wide buttons are ideal for use with wet or gloved hands.

AUTOMATED TURN TEMPLATESYour Auto Pilot Simrad doesn't just keep you on course: with the AP48 you have access to built-in turning templates, designed to make fishing or diving easier, or simply to help you turn around quickly. Simply choose a tack angle, select port or starboard, and off you go. For even greater control over your maneuvers, you can customize your templates to execute complex spirals, zigzags and more. |
DRIFTLESS STEERINGDriftless mode combines GPS navigation with autopilot steering, using the boat's position to compensate for the effects of wind and tide. This allows you to maintain a straight line to the bottom on your current heading, without having to manually define a waypoint or route. To take advantage of this powerful feature, simply link the AP48 to an NMEA 2000® -connected GPS receiver or compatible Simrad chartplotter. |

LINE-OF-SIGHT TRACKINGBy connecting your AP48 autopilot to a compatible fishfinder, you can perform line-of-sound tracking. The AP48 will then automatically steer the boat to maintain a constant water depth below it. This is the ideal way to follow the sounding line when fishing or boating, without having to define complex routes with multiple waypoints. |
