AN INTELLIGENT COMBINATION

The ITC+ (eutectic plate & ITC thermostat) water-cooled chiller is particularly suitable for boats without a constant power source.

It keeps food fresh without the need for a continuous power supply, thanks to the eutectic liquid that can store the cold, saving battery power.

The intelligent system detects when surplus energy is available to "recharge " the eutectic plate with cold. Conversely, when excess power is no longer available, the system reduces its consumption .

Thanks to the ITC intelligent thermostat and temperature sensor , energy consumption can be optimized by controlling compressor operation and adjusting the cooling power actually required.

AN INFINITE REFRIGERATION CYCLE

The ITC+ Magnum 4201 chiller is specifically designed to be powered by seawater. Here's how the system works

1. The system draws in seawater through an intake located under the boat's hull
2. The usually gaseous refrigerant is compressed in the compressor. This increases its pressure and temperature
3. The refrigerant circulates through a condenser, releasing its heat into the seawater previously drawn in . The refrigerant changes from a gas to a liquid.
4. The refrigerant passes through an expansion valve where its pressure drops, cooling its temperature. It then becomes a very cold, low-pressure mixture of liquid and gas
5. This mixture circulates inside the eutectic plates. The evaporator absorbs the heat from the eutectic mixture, freezing it and allowing the refrigerant to evaporate.
   This heat transfer process reduces the temperature inside the compartment, while the eutectic solution stores the cold .
6. The refrigerant, in its gaseous state, returns to the compressor to repeat the cycle indefinitely.

These steps are perpetually repeated to cool your food. The seawater used for condensation is generally discharged outside the boat after absorbing heat from the refrigerant.

WATER FOR COOLING

This type of water-cooled chiller is particularly versatile in terms of installation location, as there's no need for a well-ventilated space to cool the system.

It's also quieter than air-cooled systems, as it doesn't need a fan to run and remove heat.

The system is cooled by a pump that draws in seawater , enabling lower temperatures to be achieved than with ambient air inside the boat.
