Description

INDEL WEBASTO - Compact SP chiller with 170 L flat evaporator

The Compact SP Indel Webasto water-cooled 170 L chiller consists of 3 inseparable components: a compressor, a flat evaporator and a thermostat.

The choice of your cooling unit will depend on a number of criteria: the location of the cooler, the positioning of the cooling unit (flat or on a wall), the available dimensions, accessibility to the system for maintenance, and the volume to be cooled.

All these criteria are essential to ensure optimum chiller efficiency and an installation tailored to your needs.

The Compact SP chiller with flat evaporator is available in several versions to best meet your needs:

IG131 Compact SP chiller with 260 L flat evaporator

IG132 ➔ Compact SP chiller with 400 L flat evaporator

GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY

The Compact SP chiller is cooled by seawater. It's the water-cooled condenser that removes the heat from the mechanism. No need for pumps and fans to remove heat.
As a result, battery consumption is reduced and the chiller is quieter.

The SP system takes advantage of the boat's natural movements to pump seawater and cool the refrigerant. A special fitting in the sink drain allows the water to circulate freely, using every movement of the water to pump and exchange heat efficiently.

What's more, as this fitting is positioned away from the center of gravity, even a small movement of the boat is enough to activate pumping, resulting in continuous hot water withdrawal and cold water suction while preventing dirt build-up.

The flat evaporator can be installed against the walls of the future refrigerator.
Ideal for small spaces.

AN INFINITE REFRIGERATION CYCLE

The Compact SP refrigeration unit is specifically designed to be powered by seawater. Here's how the system works

  1. The system draws in seawater through an intake located under the boat's hull
  2. The usually gaseous refrigerant is compressed in the compressor. This increases its pressure and temperature
  3. The refrigerant circulates through a condenser, releasing its heat into the seawater previously drawn in. The refrigerant changes from a gas to a liquid.
  4. The refrigerant passes through an expansion valve where its pressure drops, cooling its temperature. It then becomes a very cold, low-pressure mixture of liquid and gas
  5. This mixture circulates through the evaporator, which absorbs heat from the compartment, cooling the space. By absorbing the heat, the refrigerant evaporates and becomes a low-pressure gas once again
  6. The cycle starts again when the compressor sucks in the gaseous refrigerant

These steps are perpetually repeated to cool your food. The seawater used for condensation is usually discharged outside the boat after absorbing heat from the refrigerant.
