SPOT-LOCK, AUTO-PILOT, AND REMOTE CONTROL

Thanks to its built-in GPS, the Minn Kota PowerDrive2 45 lbs bow motor features the Spot-Lock function, which automatically keeps the boat at a precise GPS location. The motor adjusts its direction and thrust to compensate for the effects of wind and current, without any intervention from the angler.

The AutoPilot feature, meanwhile, allows you to follow a set course while automatically correcting for wind and current-induced drift.

LAUNCH AND BATTERY GAUGE

The motor features a launch assist system. Simply press the lever to deploy the motor. After your fishing trip, raise it by operating the lever, and it locks into the stowed position to ensure safe travel.

The motor also includes a battery gauge. Just press a button to check your battery’s charge level.

IMPROVED CONNECTIVITY

The PowerDrive2 features wireless connectivity for remote control. It can also communicate with compatible Humminbird, and Minn Kota devices through the One Boat Network ecosystem.

From a compatible smartphone, the Minn Kota Fishing app lets you control the motor without having to go to the front of the boat.

WHAT SHAFT LENGTH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

The shaft length depends on the distance between the bow and the waterline. A shaft that’s too short may not submerge the propeller sufficiently, especially in rough water. You should therefore check this measurement before choosing your motor. To do so:

• Measure the distance between the bow and the waterline.
• Add 30 cm to this measurement if you’re fishing in rough water.
