The HS65 GNSS compass is designed to provide accurate and stable heading information on board, without being affected by magnetic disturbances. Ideal for a " autopilot " or a radar, it connects to the NMEA 2000 network and ensures data continuity thanks to its built-in backup system, even in the event of a temporary loss of the GNSS signal.
Data sheet
The HS65 Simrad is a GNSS compass designed to provide reliable heading information to onboard electronic equipment. It integrates easily into an NMEA 2000 network and enhances the performance of a autopilot, radar overlays, and compatible navigation systems.
Its GNSS technology makes it immune to magnetic interference generated by the boat’s environment. In the event of a temporary signal loss, its backup functions ensure that usable heading data is maintained for connected devices.

ACCURATE HEADING EVEN WHEN AT A STANDSTILLThe HS65 provides accurate heading data whether the boat is underway or at rest. Unlike a conventional magnetic compass, it is not affected by metal objects or electromagnetic interference on board.
This information helps improve radar overlay, chart display, and course tracking on the autopilot by providing a consistent and responsive data source. |
NAVIGATION SAFETYThe HS65 Simrad features two backup systems to maintain heading information when the GNSS signal becomes unavailable. Dead reckoning initially takes over during temporary outages. If the outage persists, a magnetic backup ensures the continuity of data sent to the network.
The HS65 also transmits yaw rate, ground speed, ground track, pitch, and roll to provide a more comprehensive view of real-time navigation. |

INTEGRATION WITH THE NMEA 2000 NETWORKThe HS65 can be mounted on a flat surface or on a pole. Its elongated design makes it easy to integrate onto many boats, even when space is limited. Once connected to the NMEA 2000 network, it automatically shares its data with compatible devices.
With a power consumption of 1.6 W, a 12 V power supply, and IPX6/IPX7 protection, it meets the requirements for onboard electronic installations exposed to marine conditions. |
