ACR GLOBALFIX V5 BEACON OPERATIONIn the event of an emergency, the ACR EPIRB GlobalFix V5 distress beacon features various technologies to communicate your position, maximizing your chances of survival:
RETURN LINK SERVICE (RLS)The ACR GlobalFix V5 (cat.2) beacon also incorporates return link service (RLS) technology . This means that search and rescue services receive confirmation via the Galileo satellite network that the distress message has been received and the position detected . The shipwrecked person is then informed by a flashing blue light on the beacon that his distress signal has been confirmed, taken into account and that help is on its way. This EIPRB ACR GlobalFix V5 distress beacon also provides rescuers with visual assistance by producing a white strobe light, as well as infrared light. This is particularly useful when searching at night or in poor visibility . |
NFC CONNECTIVITYThe ACR GlobalFix V5 Cat. II beacon also features NFC functionality, enabling it to connect to a Smartphone. In addition to being able to see that their distress signal has been taken into account by a rescue center, with the EPIRB function they can also access various information from their beacon. Once the ACR Product App (available free of charge on IOS and Android) has been installed, simply hold your phone up to the beacon and the application will open. It provides a wealth of information :
It also shows the number of self-tests & GNSS tests carried out and passed:
Warning: only works with an NFC (Near Field Communication) compatible smartphone |
CAT. IIThe ACR GlobalFix V5 beacon comes with a category 2 manual release mounting bracket . This bracket will enable you to install the GlobalFix V5 safely and allow quick and easy release of the beacon in the event of an emergency. The ACR GlobalFix V5 (Cat. II) beacon is triggered manually by means of a button protected by a cover to prevent false handling and therefore false distress calls. |
