The CZone / NMEA 2000 network interface can be used to separate sections of a NMEA 2000 network to reduce standby power consumption .

It also provides isolation between two CAN networks in gateway mode, (e.g. to connect a CZone to Simrad Simnet ). Finally, it can be used to extend a NMEA 2000 network when the maximum number of nodes (node = any device connected to the NMEA 2000 network) has been reached.

This means that up to 40 additional nodes can be added.
