Hello, for the installation, is-t-just the connection of the VHF antenna and the 12V power supply to be done or do you need to connect-something else (GPS, or additional antenna)? thank you in advance. LM
Hello, to install the VHF Garmin 215i AIS, the essential connections are those for the VHF antenna (sold separately) and the 12V power supply. The GPS is integrated into the unit, so no additional connection is required.
If your chosen installation site doesn't offer good GPS reception, you can of course connect an external GPS antenna (sold separately). You can also connect the VHF to an NMEA0183 or NMEA2000 network.
Please read the installation manual Garmin VHF 215i AIS to get an idea of the installation and connection requirements.
