The VHF 215i AIS is easy to use, install and connect to your chartplotter. The VHF 215i AIS features DSC (Digital Selective Calling). International maritime channels are pre-programmed on this marine radio. It is compatible with the NMEA 0183/NMEA2000 standard and features a two-way megaphone system for onboard communications.

WHAT IS AIS?

AIS is a communication system that transmits information via a transmitter to other vessels also equipped with a receiver. The information sent is :

• Course
• Speed
• Its characteristics
• Position via GPS connection
• The ship's identity, thanks to its MMSI number and name

With AIS, you can obtain information, identify and contact the vessels around you. You can also spot vessels invisible to the naked eye and sail peacefully.
