Does this device-come with a "base" on which it is clipped to connect it to the power supply?
Or does it have to be connected and disconnected with the power supply plug every time-?

Hello, this Humminbird Helix 5 CP plotter does not have a quick-release base like those found on Garmin Echomap for example. You therefore need to disconnect the power plug at the back of the unit as soon as you want to remove it.

Hello, for this model of sounder Helix 5 we have this RAM SW bracket- VH5 , it can be swivelled but is more suitable for mounting on a flat surface.

Hello Éric, BlueChart cards are compatible with Garmin devices. For devices Humminbird, you should opt for a Navionics card instead, as indicated in the compatibility guide Navionics.

Hello, no the GPS Helix 5 CP is compatible with the maps Navionics+ and Sylmap but is not compatible with the maps C-MAP, please refer to the map compatibility guide Navionics for more information

Hello, no, the GPS Helix 5 G2 CP is sold without a sensor. If you want the probe, you'll have to buy the Helix 5 G2 + transom probe version
