NKE - CARBOWIND - THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE SENSOR FROM NKE
The Carbowind wind sensor is an instrument for measuring wind speed and direction. Easilymounted and dismounted at the masthead, it provides a corrected angle with a stored value for the wind vane's mechanical offset. This correction is essential for correct display of apparent wind angle and true wind direction.
The long, rigid carbon pole enables the sensor to be positioned more than a metre above the masthead, outside disturbed wind fields. The carbon blade is lightweight and highly resistant to vibration. With its very low inertia, this sensor is the ideal tool for sailors who want to capture instantaneous variations in wind direction.
