Description

DIGITAL YACHT - GPS160 - ADVANCED POSITIONING SENSOR

The GPS160 is a high-performance positioning sensor using the GPS, Galileo and Glonass satellite positioning systems, offering exceptional reliability and positioning accuracy . Typical accuracy is around 1 m, and data can be set for output at up to 18 Hz for smoother display on chartplotters.

The GPS160 also supports a "man overboard" MOB function. When this function is activated, the GPS160 transmits a "man overboard" alert on the NMEA output, which can be interfaced with a chartplotter to broadcast and display the man overboard alert on the chartplotter (function not available on USB version).

Finally, it also features QuadNav technology to receive data from 4 different satellite constellations .

GPS160 NMEA0183

The GPS160 features a standard NMEA0183 output for connection to chartplotters, instruments and other equipment with NMEA0183 output.

GPS160 NMEA2000

The NMEA 2000 version of the GPS160 is supplied with our iKonvert converter (NMEA 0183-NMEA 2000), enabling easy installation on the NMEA 2000 network without the need for a bulky, short NMEA2000 cable.

The GPS160 cable is therefore 10 meters long and will be connected to the iKonvert, which is easily connected to the NMEA 2000 network.

GPS160 USB

The GPS160 USB version comes with a 5-meter cable. The GPS160 is self-powered via the USB port (PC, MAC or Linux).

Once installed, a virtual COM port is created on the PC so that navigation software can receive positioning data.

This version of GPS160 does not feature the MOB function.

If a longer cable or the MOB function is required, it is preferable to use the GPS160 (NMEA0183 version) and add a USB-NMEA0183 adapter.

GPS160 WIFI

The GPS160 Wi-Fi version is supplied with our Smart WLN10 NMEA WIFi server, enabling GPS160 data to be broadcast to tablet, iPad and PC navigation applications and software.

Smart WLN10 creates password-protected on-board Wi-Fi and supports UDP (up to 7 devices simultaneously) and TCP/IP protocols for maximum application compatibility.
