The NAC-3 autopilot computer is the brain of your Simrad autopilot system. The NAC-3 is designed for boats of 10 m (35 ft) or more and for pumps, mechanical power units or high-current solenoid valves (30 A continuous and 50 A peak).
SIMRAD - NAC-3 - YOUR PILOT'S NERVE CENTER
The NAC-3 autopilot computer is the brain of your Simrad autopilot system. It contains the electronics required to operate a hydraulic steering pump or mechanical power unit, while also enabling connection to other components such as heading and rudder angle sensors. The NAC-3 is designed for boats of 10 m (35 ft) or more, and for high-current (30 A continuous and 50 A peak) pumps, mechanical power units or solenoid valves.
STANDARD OUTPUT CURRENTThe NAC-3 autopilot computer is recommended for boats of 10 m (35 ft) or more. As standard, it generates a current of up to 30 A continuous and 50 A peak, as well as a clutch current. It is therefore suitable for low-current devices: steering pumps such as Simrad Pump-3, Pump-4, mechanical power units such as Simrad DD15, hydraulic linear power units such as HLD2000, solenoid valves. |

VIRTUAL RUDDER ANGLE SENSORVirtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) technology from Simrad eliminates the need to install a separate rudder angle sensor on boats with outboard or stern-drive motors (inboard/outboard). This reduces the cost and complexity of an autopilot system. It's the ideal solution when installation of an angle sensor is impossible for mechanical reasons. |
|
RUDDER ANGLE SENSORSHelm angle sensors are connected to the helm by a mechanical link. They continuously inform your autopilot computer of the position the helm is in. The Simrad Continuum algorithm is then able to make the best possible steering decisions. As a rule, these sensors are used on inboard motorboats and large craft, as well as in special cases where a virtual rudder angle sensor is not suitable. The NAC-2 ECU supports Simrad RF25 angle sensors with SimNet or NMEA 2000® connectivity, as well as resistive rudder angle sensors. |
|
EASY INSTALLATIONThe industry-standard NMEA 2000® network function and NMEA 0183® input simplify connection to heading sensors, rudder angle sensors, autopilot control boxes and multifunction displays, regardless of their location on the boat. |
