It is supplied here with a power cable and a 15 m data cable, but the Quantum 2 radar is also available in other versions with a power cable and a 10 m data cable, or without cables.

Thanks to state-of-the-art Doppler processing, the system immediately highlights radar contacts and color-codes them to indicate whether they are inbound or outbound. With Quantum Doppler, it's easy to distinguish potentially dangerous targets when navigating in busy areas.


	DOPPLER RADAR OPERATION Microwave-energy waves are reflected by a target at a distance, just like traditional radar. Moving targets return echoes whose frequencies are shifted up or down in relation to what was originally transmitted. For incoming targets, the frequency increases because the leading edge of the returning echoes is received more often as the target gets closer. For outgoing targets, the frequency drops as the returning echoes are spaced further apart as their distance increases. Doppler radars are designed to detect these small changes in wave frequency, and use them to classify moving radar targets.

DOPPLER TARGET PROCESSING The Quantum 2 then assigns unique color codes to moving targets to indicate whether they are approaching or moving away. Incoming targets are displayed in red. Outgoing targets are displayed in green. Color-coded targets simplify the detection of moving traffic compared to other fixed targets, such as land, navigational aids or stationary/anchored vessels.

	TARGET ACQUISITION & ANALYSIS Configure customized safety or warning zones and be alerted to new radar contacts entering the zone. The Quantum 2 can automatically start tracking these contacts, calculating their trajectory, speed, closest point of approach, etc. You'll be warned of dangerous contacts by audible alerts and easy-to-understand on-screen graphics.

TRUE TRAILS The Quantum 2 also features the new True Trails target history display from Raymarine. True Trails features allow you to see the "wake" history of each moving contact. This additional information makes it even easier to interpret the movement of other vessels, and to make informed maneuvering decisions in complete safety.
