Simple, precise length adjustment. Features two important functions : 1) it's a sturdy, precisely extendable stick - 2) it's a manualautopilot; once locked in its housing it holds the bar in the desired position. It can be easily adjusted by turning the stick and sliding it into the desired position; once the stick is released, "Friend" locks into this position. To return to normal piloting mode, it's simple and intuitive: just lift it out of its housing. Very useful when sailing, it allows you to leave the helm at any time, while in port or at anchor, and keeps the helm locked in place.
