This actuator slides into the hatch hub mechanism. From the outer side of the cover plate, the handle shaft inserts into the actuator's center hole and is then secured with the included cross pin. It is used in all Freeman cast-aluminum hatches, with the exception of 8" and 12" models, where the cross pin is simply welded to the end of the handle shaft.
