What is a BlackBox sounder module?

A sounder module or "Blackbox" is a device connected to your multifunction display via a network cable. Give it additional functions, such as 3D background display, or a power booster allowing the use of more powerful 1000W, 2000W, 3000W probes....

Sounder Modules are divided into 3 categories:

• Garmin LVS32 / LVS34 real-time scanning fishfinders are considered THE reference. ForHumminbird owners, opt for the Mega Live and Active Target for Lowrance screens.
• The Box 3D with 120° scanning, like the DFF3D, converts the NavNet TZtouch or TZtouch2 multifunction display into a 120° multi-beam sounder.
• Booster sounder modules, 1000W or more, enable you to use more powerful probes on your equipment.

Real-time sounders

The Garmin LVS34 and LVS32 fishfinders, together with their Garmin GLS10 sounder module, provide a real-time view of the seabed. No fish will escape this scanning sounder, which displays a precise, clear, full-color sounder image of everything going on in front of and below the boat down to ~60m.

LIVESCOPE DOWN technology will show you what's going on under the boat's hull, LIVESCOPE FORWARD what's going on in front of the boat, and LIVESCOPE PERSPECTIVE is useful for sounding deep in front of the boat at a wider angle.

The GLS10 black box is an essential accessory for LVS probes.

3D multibeam blackbox sounder

Some sounder modules add functions to your MFD-compatible multifunction display.

This is the case with the Furuno DFF3D 3D box, which adds a 3D function for displaying the relief of the bottom: middle, port and starboard. This triple-beam echosounder displays the relief to the left and right of the ship at 120°, with a simple, intuitive image color-coded according to depth.

You can also add a motion sensor to stabilize image display even in difficult weather conditions.

Power booster sounder module

Some devices, such as GPS fishfinders or multifunction displays, are not compatible with high-power probes of 1kW or more. A blackbox can be used to boost sonar performance, enabling you to detect deep water, probe at greater depths, improve fish detection...

An external sounder module lets you add a powerful Chirp multichannel sounder, and use Downvision or Sidevision technology to take fishing to the next level.
