REFRIGERATOR, ELECTRIC COOLER OR RIGID COOLERHere you'll find different types of boat coolers and refrigerators to suit your needs. Whether you're a boater on a sailboat, catamaran, motorboat or fishing dinghy, your needs and requirements will vary. On a houseboat, you may prefer a single- or double-door refrigerator (49 liters, 130 liters and up to 200 liters), or a drawer refrigerator (for smaller spaces). If you're outfitting your tender or fishing with friends, you'll opt for a rigid or electric cooler, which is more compact and easier to transport. The brand DometiccoolFreeze CFF electric compressor cooler, for example, is available in two capacities (34-liter and 44-liter), offering not only efficient cold storage but also freezer access. You can easily set the temperature and cooling mode via its LED display, over a range from +20°C to -18°C. Rigid (passive) coolers, on the other hand, focus on the essentials: excellent preservation thanks to perfect insulation and sturdiness against the elements and the weather. Designed for easy transport, they are no less high-performance, like the models from Igloo, a specialist in this field. They are particularly recommended for fishing, camping, bivouacking and other outdoor activities. |
A HIGHLY VERSATILE COOLERAll these fridges or coolers need not be limited to use on board a boat. In fact, the most compact can easily be transported and/or installed in a caravan, motorhome, camper van or even your car. Ultra-portable, an electric compressor slide will still offer you several liters of storage space. You'll be able to enjoy perfectly preserved food, but also and above all, cold drinks, and even ice cubes for some coolers offering a freezer option. Others can even be used to reheat food. Unfortunately, they don't cook for us yet. Most coolers and refrigerators are compatible with 12V and 24V battery power, and 115V / 230V mains power (whatever the country's electrical standard). Coolers are particularly popular for their comfortable seating. Anglers will appreciate this, especially as many offer a built-in measuring ruler to check the size of their catch.
