Data sheet
The AIT5000 is a 5W SOTDMA Class B AIS transponder with a certified zero-loss VHF antenna splitter, enabling the main VHF antenna to be shared with the AIS, VHF radio and FM radio without any loss of data.
FASTER AND MORE POWERFULThe AIT5000 uses SOTDMA technology and has a power rating of 5 W instead of 2 W. SOTDMA technology is also used by AIS Class A transponders, so the AIT5000 has the same priority when it comes to reserving a slot, ensuring that it is always able to transmit. The transmission speed is 5 sec instead of 30 sec. This new technology is therefore useful for sailors who need the best possible performance. Thanks to SOTDMA technology, the transponder can also be tracked by satellite (subscription to specialized sites required). What's more, the AIT5000 also has several interfaces: NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, USB and a WiFi server for integration with Ipad, Android tablets and Iphone. If you want to broadcast data from your connected equipment on a NMEA2000 network, you'll need to add the iKonvert , a NMEA2000/NMEA0183 converter, as navigation applications and software cannot read NMEA2000 data. |
WIFI NETWORKThe AIT5000 creates a secure, password-protected local Wi-Fi network on board your boat, enabling you to send AIS and GPS data to PC/Mac/Linux software and iOS and Android applications such as Navionics, Weather4D, SailGrib, iNavX, iSailor, OpenCPN, TimeZero and more. With these softwares and apps, you can overlay AIS targets on your charts in real time, and up to 7 devices can be connected to the AIT5000's WiFi at the same time. Depending on the application, you can click on a target to obtain more detailed information, and some applications can even calculate CPA and TCPA collision alarms. |
PROGRAMMING THE AIT5000In order to transmit boat data, an AIS transponder must be programmed once with the boat's identity and physical dimensions. This programming is done via a simple web interface that can be accessed from a PC, tablet or even a smartphone by connecting to the AIT5000's WiFi network. This same web interface can also be used to stop AIS transmission, to change the name and password of the WiFi network, or even to join an existing WiFi network. |
AIS MOB BOX (OPTIONAL)Designed to work with SART and MOB beacons, it operates autonomously and automatically. As soon as a SART AIS transmission is detected, the box sounds its internal 95dB alarm and displays a warning message with a red light. For larger installations, it can also be connected to an external alarm so that the whole boat is immediately warned. |
