Description

RUTLAND - WIND TURBINE RUTLAND 504 12 V

Designed for sailboats and pleasure craft up to 10 m, the Rutland 504 wind turbine provides DC power to charge a 12 V battery bank. It starts in light winds (3m/s) to maximize production in light breezes, and remains stable thanks to its aerodynamic design and 6 blades.

With its durable materials and UV and weather resistance, it fits perfectly into a marine electrical installation dedicated to your boat's needs. For safe operation, the wind turbine must always be connected to a regulator(not supplied) or to the batteries, and the mast must comply with the recommended dimensions.

DAILY 12 V CHARGING

The Rutland 504 is designed to provide a DC power source for charging 12 V batteries in areas where consumption remains moderate: lighting, electronics and navigation equipment. Its low-wind start-up allows you to recover watts even in calm conditions.

  • Power supply D.C. for 12 V batteries
  • Low-wind starting (5 knots)
  • Designed for sailboats or recreational vehicles
  • Stable, aerodynamic design

In practice, it's a simple solution for maintaining the charge at anchor, limiting engine use and keeping batteries ready, especially when sunshine isn't constant.

MAST-MOUNTED INSTALLATION

To protect the wind turbine and guarantee smooth operation, the installation must comply with certain recommendations. The mast must have a certain diameter at the top, to ensure the necessary clearance between the blades and the mast.

  • A 31.7 mm inside diameter mast is required
  • Maximum outside diameter 38.1 mm for at least 50 cm at the top
  • On board, installation at least 2 m above deck-
  • Use suitable cable to limit losses

The charge controller(not supplied) must be installed close to the batteries, and the connections must remain permanent. The wind turbine must never be operated in open circuit, to avoid overvoltage.
