The cover and guide finger can be used in installations where the hawse ladder is not integrated with the windlass. Here, the cover and guide finger are used on the V6 deck unit.
The cover attaches to the windlass and protects the motor from water and impact. The guide finger, on the other hand, is fitted to the cover and guides the chain or rope to the spool.
