A horizontal offset brake is located away from the windlass and is not directly aligned with the windlass vertical axis, but rather offset.
This system transmits the braking force from the wheel to the windlass and locks the chain when the anchor is dropped.
This type of brake is particularly suited to considerations with limited deck space.
It can be used on all V8 deck units fitted with a remote brake: V8 deck units and high-power V8 deck units.
