A resistance to any test

The only manufacturer to offer it, the double chamber is exclusive to Plastimo. The design of the liferafts with 1100 Decitex polyester and PVC coating allows an optimal safety against abrasion and scratching.

The buoyancy and the water and air tightness are ensured by the double polyurethane air chambers (bladders). This design ensures 600% elasticity for an absolute guarantee against puncture.

Plastimo's life rafts are designed without any glue to avoid any risk of degradation for an increased longevity. The different elements and technologies are sewn together and then heat-bonded to resist the effort of inflating the raft with gas. This also ensures a watertight seal!

In order for the Plastimo Coastal raft to "stick to the sea", stabilization pockets (4 of 55 liters) weighted with weights are located under the boat. They ensure the raft's stability and prevent it from turning over or drifting.

Finally, the assisted activation of the raft is a Plastimo innovation. The raft is inflated by pulling on one end and then the gas pressure takes care of the rest. This patented system allows a child or an injured person to hit the raft. 

Safety first

The Coastal liferaft signed Plastimo has different elements to ensure your safety, but also your visibility.

• Lighting: The liferaft is equipped with a SOLAS 0.75 CD lithium lamp on top of the roll bar. This lamp has a 12 hour duration for better tracking .

• Marking and color: for a great visibility, the tubes of the raft are yellow with a fluorescent orange tent (900 cm²). There are retroreflective strips on the tent, but also under the bottom (600 cm²) if the raft is turned over.

• Ladder: To facilitate boarding, the raft is equipped with a reversible ladder and an inside handle. If the raft capsizes, the ladder also tips over to allow the castaway to easily climb onto the overturned boat to facilitate the recovery of the raft.

• Floating anchor: 30 m long with a surface area of 0.67 m², the floating anchor effectively reduces the effect of drifting, stabilizes the boat and reduces the frequency of rocking.

Plastimo's Coastal Liferafts have an 18 year manufacturer's warranty if serviced properly every 3 years. At the 3rd service, the cylinder is replaced free of charge (for rafts manufactured since 2018).

Storage in containers or in bags? 

The Plastimo Coastal Liferaft is available in two storage versions: in containers or in bags.

Storage in a container will guarantee better protection and storage of your raft . It will be easier to stow on your boat (flat or on edge with the percussion end up) in an easily accessible and convenient place. It is possible to stow the container with a specific support separately.

Storage in bags is made of a very resistant coated fabric that is not affected by UV rays and is more easily transportable. Lighter and more compact, this less rigid packaging method can generate a variation of more or less 10% of the indicated dimensions of the bag.

In any case, life rafts should not be considered as steps or seats, do not mistreat them, they could save your life...
